Oh my, I think I have been hacked! What to do now?

  1. Get a copy of your credit report.  It is free and will give you a quick account of all open accounts or account that has been opened in your name.  Free fraud alerts are available. The three main reporting agencies are Experian, Equifax and Trans Union.

  2. Disable permissions for any third-party apps.

  3. Change passwords and make them trickier.  This tactic is most beneficial for social networks like; Facebook or Twitter .

  4. Perform an antivirus scan to declare there is no malware or other virus on your computer.

  5. If financial or personal data has been compromise, call your bank or corresponding representative immediately and ask for assistance.
